Foundry Day to return to Boiling Springs June 7
BOILING SPRINGS — The 28th Foundry Day Arts & Crafts Festival returns to Boiling Springs on Saturday, June 7.
The juried arts and crafts festival is held the first Saturday of June every year and held in honor of the village’s beginnings, which centered around the iron foundry.
The festival will feature original works of 100 fine artists and craftsmen, many of whom are members of the Yellow Breeches Chapter of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsmen. The festival will feature fine art, pottery, furniture, fiber, jewelry, wheat weaving, handmade brooms, decorative oil painting, leather, metalwork, enameling, glass, woodworking, doll sculpture, photography and ironware.
The Letort Quilters will also hold its bi-annual quilt show with more than 200 quilts on display, and the Appalachian Trail Conservancy and Trout Unlimited take part in the festival.
Other entertainment includes music by The Bookends and activities for children, including The Bubble Man, balloon animals and face painting. There will also be a variety of food and drink.
The event runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. rain or shine and takes place on the streets overlooking Children’s Lake, spanning from the Memorial Clock Tower to the walking bridge.
