ST. LOUIS – Sean Panikkar’s voice brought tears to those who first heard him on “America’s Got Talent,” and now he’s in St. Louis wowing audiences and helping to raise money for the Siteman Cancer Center.

Panikkar said, “My mother-in-law is a cancer survivor. My grandmother passed away with cancer. My brother is actually an oncologist. When I go out and do my job well, I get a standing ovation when he goes out and does his job well, he’s changing somebody’s life forever.”

Panikkar is currently performing at Opera Theater of St. Louis in The Magic Flute. June 9 he will join 11 other world class artists to raise money for the Siteman Cancer Center.

He said, “The Siteman Cancer Center is one of the jewels of St. Louis. When we were asked if we would be willing to participate in this concert, we were all thrilled because cancer is something that touches all of us.”

He credits his exposure on “America’s Got Talent” as a way to bring his love of opera to a much larger audience.

He said, ” ‘America’s Got Talent’ averages between 10 and 12 million viewers. It is a platform where you can reach households in America that would necessarily be exposed to classical singing.”

It is said that music can change the world. Panikkar says cancer research and Sing for Siteman, can change lives.
