Alex Kennedy to Drive for Circle Sport Racing This Weekend at Pocono Raceway

Alex Kennedy posted on his facebook page this afternoon that he will drive the #33 Circle Sport Racing entry in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starting this weekend at Pocono Raceway. Kennedy will also run the #33 Chevrolet in a few other races throughout the season.

 

Veteran David Stremme was originally on the entry list this weekend before Kennedy replaced him. Stremme has split time in the #33 this season between Brian Scott and Timmy Hill. The #33 Chevrolet currently sits 41stin owner points and has a best finish of 25thwhich came in February at the Daytona 500 with Scott behind the wheel.

 

Kennedy is a 22 year old driver from Aztec, New Mexico and has three career NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts. Kennedy ran both road course events, (Sonoma and Watkins Glen) and the August Pocono race for Tri-Star Motorsports in 2013 and has a best finish of 29thwhich came at Watkins Glen. Kennedy also has 15 career NASCAR Nationwide Series starts and has a best finish of 15thwhich came at the road course in Montreal, Canada in the 2012 season.
