The organizing committee for the Fort McMurray Half Marathon announced details for this year’s race Monday with the event scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 14.

The day of racing, which features a half marathon, will also feature a 10km, 5km and 3km road race. It will also feature a Kids Fun Run.

The events will feature a capped number of participants except for the Kids Fun Run. The 3km race will have a maximum registration of 30 participants and the 5km race will allow for up to 160 racers.

The two longer races will have the largest number of spots open with the 10km race having 250 spots open to racers.

The longest race of the day —the 21.1 km run— will have 200 spots available for registrants.

The races will coincide with the Terry Fox Run, which begins at 1 p.m. on Sept. 14 as well. Registration will open 10 a.m. on June 19 with race package pickup available Sept. 13, the day before the race.

Last year’s City Centre Marathon saw over 600 participants compete in a variety of races that took them throughout the city.
