A Thai Fight event will be held at the Venetian Macao’s Cotai Arena on June 28. Nopporn Wartin, president and CEO of Sport Art Co., Ltd. and owner of Thai Fight, announced yesterday at a press conference in Bangkok that he intends to propagate Thai culture to the world through Muay Thai.

Titled: “Thai Fight World Battle,” the event marks the first time this year that a Thai Fight Muay Thai competition will be hosted outside of Thailand. Themed “Asia vs. Europe,” the event will see fighters from Hong Kong and China compete against fighters from Europe.

“Thai Fight is sure to be another fantastic crowd-pleaser at the Cotai Arena, giving both locals and visitors the ultimate leisure and entertainment experience,” said Gunther Hatt, executive vice president of operations for Sands China. “The Venetian Macao has been bringing in many successful combat sporting events, such as boxing cards featuring Zhou Shiming and Manny Pacquiao, and UFC matches. We are confident that hosting Thai Fight at our property will help to further promote Muay Thai and Thai culture.”

The competition will bring a number of Muay Thai fighters to Macau, including Yodsanklai Fairtex, Sudsakorn Sor.Klinmee, Saiyok Pumpanmuang Windysport, Antoine-Leo Pinto, and Iquezang Kor.Rungthanakeat. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be broadcast live to Thailand.
