Description: Evolution: Indian Hunter is a 3D action game for Android that puts you in the boots of Chayton, the son of a tribal chief in the 1830s, the peek of Indian civilization in the West of America. With Evolution: Indian Hunter, you will learn how to handle the tomahawk, spear, and bow and arrow while learning to hunt great animals like the Buffalo and fending off rattlesnakes, wolves, coyotes, and grizzly bears. There are 12 unique levels to play through and the game plays like a 3D open world game in which you become a great Indian hunter. Evolution: Indian Hunter will immerse you in the Lakota Sioux life, or at least it aims to – let’s find out if it does.
How it Works: First off, you’ll need to get the game on your device, to do that you can just head on over to the Play Store. Once you have the game installed on your device, you can go ahead and start playing.
There are a few options to tweak in the options menu and you can take a look at the trailer if you like, too. To get stuck in though, just hit play and choose the story mode, the challenges are for when you know how to play the game. When you start to play the game, you will be greeted with an introduction with a Native American voiceover.

One of the first things you’ll notice are the 3D graphics and how they really paint a picture of what it would have been like back then.
You’ll be charged with learning how to use weapons to hunt with at first, like the spear.
The aiming system can be a little tricky to get used to, but it doesn’t take too long before you’ll feel familiar with it. One cool thing about using the bow and arrow is that you’ll get a nice zoom in animation as the arrow heads towards its target.
This is just a look at the first level, you hunt down majestic animals like the Buffalo, you’ll have to play yourself and find out what it’s like! Don’t forget though, there’s the included Lexicon that people can use to find out more about the Native American people.
Opinion: The best way to describe Evolution: Indian Hunter is, intriguing. The 3D graphics look good and well, there aren’t many games out there that represent native American culture like this, which is a shame. Not only will it give mobile gamers an opportunity to try something new, it’s also a good game, it’s got all the right elements to keep players entertained for long periods of time and the hunting missions are all varied and lead up to the great Buffalo towards the end of the game. One thing that puzzled me however, were the low frame rates I was getting, on a Snapdragon 600 I should be able to play a game like this just fine, but it often stuttered for me in parts.

- Overall (4/5) – Despite the frame rate issues, Evolution: Indian Hunter is a game any mobile gamer should try out as it offers a completely different experience to that found in other games and is a unique property in its own right.

- Frame rates are very inconsistent, even on devices with Snapdragon 600 and Snapdragon 800 devices.
- Aiming system can be a little tricky to deal with.
Conclusion: Evolution: Indian Hunter is a game not without some problems, but then nothing out there is perfect and if you can look past the niggles, what you’ll find is an excellent experience that feels almost like a console game, rather than a mobile title. There are a variety of weapons, lots of missions and it all comes together in a Native American environment that has a lot to offer players. Well worth giving a go, players will find something exciting and different in Evolution: Indian Hunter.
