A children’s party in Cook Park kicked off the second day of Libertyville Days on Friday, and activities, crafts, snacks and games kept the kids busy under a sunny sky.

The Libertyville Junior Women’s Club hosted the party and Creatively Caring volunteered to run the craft and game tables and provided raffle baskets. Princesses and movie characters from Palatine’s Premier Princess Parties mingled with the children and posed for photos.

Diane Thomas, owner of Premier Princess Parties said she has wonderful, talented performers.

“We all love meeting as many families as we can,” she said. “The children’s party was very well organized and they opened their arms to us. We felt very much a part of it.”

Other Friday events included carnival rides, a talent show, a cookie bake-off and cake decorating contest. Also, an arts and crafts fair continues through Sunday in Cook Park.

The Libertyville days parade will start at 10 a.m. Saturday and the festival wraps up at 6 p.m. Sunday.
