PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. – A big sporting event in Plattsburgh Saturday is the second annual Lacrosse Jamboree

The Plattsburgh Lacrosse Club is hosting the all day tournament. Nearly 500 players will be running up and down lacrosse fields on the U.S. Oval in Plattsburgh.

Athletes ages 5-15 are participating. The Plattsburgh Lacrosse Club started an effort to grow the sport which club members say was non-existent in the area before.

“Decided that there should be lacrosse in this area. We formed it with our kids who were hockey friends. We started off just playing a few exhibition games with the 10 of us. Last year we incorporated, and we had 35 kids and now we’ve grown to over 70 kids this year,” said Scott Dublanyk from Plattsburgh Lacrosse Club.

Attendance is free to come out and watch the action on the lacrosse field Saturday.
