The Musical Theatre Camp at WHBPAC Presents THE PIED PIPER, 7/7-11
Calling all young actors and actresses! WHBPAC’s Arts Education Program is looking for youngsters, ages 6* – 16, to participate in its week-long summer Musical Theatre Camp, The Pied Piper. Campers will rehearse from Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 11 culminating in a public performance on Friday night. The fee for the camp is $450.
Campers are cast on Monday, and by Friday, they are performance-ready with costumes and sets! And when they’re not rehearsing with Missoula Children’s Theatre Directors, campers will be learning all about theatre and singing from WHBPAC’s acclaimed Teaching Artists, enjoying pizza parties and ice cream socials and participating in the ever-popular “Spirit Days!” Young people 12 and up who would like to be “behind the scenes” can choose to participate as “Assistant Directors.”
Then, campers will present an original adaptation of this classic children’s tale to family and friends in a public performance on Friday, July 11 at 7:00 p.m. on the Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center’s stage. When the Town of Hamelin is overrun by ravenous rats, Sara and the other Townspeople of Hamelin Town turn to the Mayor of Hamelin and his Council. They then call on the Pied Piper to save them from the troublesome creatures. The Mayor’s son and daughter and the Cooks also join in the endeavor. Find out what happens when the town is unable to pay the Piper! All tickets are $15 and can be purchased online at www.whbpac.org.
