BARK RIVER — The Bark River Lions Club International Off Road Races kicked off Friday night. Over 40 professional racers and countless more sportsmen are taking part in the races.

Admission is $10 a day or $20 for the weekend, children 9 an under are free.  It is fun for the whole family.  There is live music, games, food, and tomorrow is the first annual beer and wine tasting event.  But it seems it’s mainly the unique race track and tough cars that keep bringing the fans back year after year.

“I’ve been coming here for well over 20 years,” said race fan, Nathan Kussmann. “I come here for the atmosphere.  The racing is awesome, the natural terrain and the elevation changes.”

If you’re unable to make it down tonight, the fun continues Saturday and Sunday.
