STK wins another intense fight!

Round 2 of the Australian Super 7s series was held in May at Action Paintball. 10 teams were all vying for the top spot in the Professional Division. We knew that if we didn’t bring our A game we were going to be in for a tough weekend of paintball.

We started on the Friday with a walk of the field. After coming up with a couple of game plans that we were happy with, we called it a day and went back to make sure all our gear was prepped and ready for the weekend.

Saturday morning rolled around and we were the first game of the day. We were up against SYDNEY EXPLICIT. Explicit had brought over Devon Stutz from Dye to play with them. We started off well coming away with a 3-2 win. Our next few games were against NZ Clown Monkeys, Shenanigans and East Side Raw, all of which we also took the win. Our last game of the day was against STK. This was going to be our hardest game of day 1 but also a good test to see if all of our training after the first round had paid off. It was a fast-paced game with both teams taking quick points and throwing everything at each other. At the end of time we came away with the win at 3-2.

On Sunday we had four games to play before finals. We were up against Apparition, Uprising, Relentless and Sydney SWAT. Having taken only wins up to our SWAT game, we knew we would be playing off for 1st or 2nd in the Finals. SWAT had brought over Blake Yarber from San Diego Dynasty, and this game was to be our hardest game for day 2 before Finals. It was also going to decide whom we would play off in the final as STK and SWAT had both suffered losses while we remained undefeated. Given our on-field relationship with SWAT, this was going to be the grudge match of the weekend, especially for SWAT as they tried to keep their finals hopes alive. After some long drawn out points it ended in a 2-all draw. This meant we would be facing STK in the final for 1st or 2nd.

The Final.

What a game this was. The end score absolutely does not reflect how tough the match actually was. Both teams came out swinging from the blocks. We were able to get an early 2 point lead. We swapped ends where STK were able to take the next point – they weren’t going down without a fight. After quickly regrouping we were able to take the next 2 points and come away with the 4-1 win!

In closing, we would like to thank everyone who came down and supported us in the pits or just by cheering for us over the weekend. It really helps us a lot. A big shout out goes to our sponsors Devon Stutz, Dye Precision and Paintball Addiction. Our gear performed flawlessly all weekend and without you guys none of this would be possible.

Round 3 will be held in August and we’re aiming to keep up the good work and bring home another win.
