Chrissy Needham, a 2000 UConn graduate and former head coach at Kenyon College and American International College, was named head field hockey coach at Connecticut College on Friday.

Needham, a native of Killingworth, played in two Division I Final Fours while at UConn, where she was a four-time Big East Academic All-Star.

She coached Greenwich High School to state titles in 2005 and 2006, then left for the college ranks, where she was an assistant at Division I UMass, head coach at Division III Kenyon in 2010 and 2011 and head coach at Division II AIC in 2012 and 2013.

“Chrissy brings a wealth of experience at all levels of field hockey. The depth of her recruiting network and her emphasis on the academic progress of her students will be a winning combination for our program and student-athletes,” director of athletics Fran Shields said in a statement released by Conn.
