Logitech International SA (LOGIAnalyst Report) recently unveiled its latest offering for the Samsung Galaxy Tab range- Logitech Type-S, a keyboard case for the 10.5-inch version of Samsung Galaxy Tab S. The company strategically synchronized the launch of the keyboard case with that of the Tab.

The keyboard case created to match the sleek design of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S, sports additional features like water repellence, in-built bluetooth as well as auto-wake and auto-sleep modes. The case is also equipped with an Essential Protection System (E.P.S.) for enhanced security of the tablet. This apart, the case comes with a durable battery and a dual-view stand for customer’s convenience. Logitech has essentially focused on superior product design complemented with advanced technology to gain a competitive edge.

Priced at approximately $99.99, the Logitech Type-S case will be available in the U.S., Europe and parts of Asia this month onwards.

The company is hoping to revive its sagging Tablet & Other Accessories business with this launch. The segment had reported a revenue decline of 26.2% in the last reported quarter (fourth-quarter 2014).

Separately, on Jun 10, the company revealed that its Logitech G hardware has been chosen by leading professional eSports teams including Alliance based in Sweden and Germany, Korea’s CJ Entus, DetonatioN from Japan, China’s Invictus Gaming, mYinsanity in Switzerland, XCN based in Indonesia and Cloud 9, Hammer Time and Team SoloMid from the U.S. These teams will be utilizing Logitech’s keyboards, headsets, mice and mouse pads.

The company’s PC gaming division is growing on the back of increasing demand, as a result of which the segment reported a robust 86.0% increase in sales in the fourth quarter of fiscal 2014. The company is expecting to benefit significantly from these collaborations as eSports is likely to gain popularity in the long run. However, news of this collaboration failed to move investors’ sentiments as the company’s shares dipped nearly 2% following the news.
