(KMAland) — Here’s a look at Saturday’s softball and baseball results in KMAland. Continue to refresh throughout the day for the latest results.

 

 

SOFTBALL

 

Charter Oak-Ute 8 Shenandoah 3 (Underwood Tournament)

(Underwood) — Charter Oak-Ute scored seven runs combined in the fifth and sixth innings to advance in the Underwood Tournament.

 

The Fillies got a two-run hit from Kayla Stogdill. Devon Wood singled and walked twice.

 

Shenandoah 17 Thomas Jefferson 9 (Underwood Tournament)

(Underwood) — The Fillies dropped a 10-spot on Thomas Jefferson in the second inning on their way to the blowout victory.

 

Devon Wood drove in three runs on two hits and scored once while JaCee Hogue, Sydnie Nothwehr and Brianna Holmes all drove in two runs apiece.

 

Shenandoah 14 East Mills 2 (Underwood Tournament)

(Underwood) — Shenandoah scored three in the first, six in the second and five in the third in pounding out 12 hits.

 

Wood was on base and scored three times and drove in two on a home run. Hogue, Logan Ehlers and Jordan Major had two RBI apiece, but it was Kaylee Birt who produced the biggest total, bringing in four runs on two hits.

 

Glenwood 8 Lenox 1 (Lenox Tournament)

(Lenox) — Lisa Nebel earned player of the game honors, finishing with 10 strikeouts and zero walks. The senior scattered five hits.

 

The Rams then lost in the championship game to Earlham, 7-2.

 

Underwood 21 East Mills 5 (Underwood Tournament – First Round)

(Underwood) — The Eagles pounded out 16 hits and played solid defense behind pitcher Tobey Yates, who struck out eight in five innings.

 

Yates had two doubles and three RBI while Shay Tiarks drove in three, Emma Bonnet had two doubles and Lea Crouse doubled once.

 

Elizebth Walker was 2-for-2 with two RBI in the game for East Mills.

 

Underwood 5 Sidney 3 (Underwood Tournament – Semifinal)

(Underwood) — Underwood scored three in the first inning and stayed on top throughout, using an all-eighth grade battery of Anna Hall and Alex Martinez.

 

Tobey Yaes entered in the sixth inning and closed the game. She also had one hit and two RBI at the plate, and Shay Tiarks reached base three times in the game

 

Underwood 10 Riverside 3 (Underwood Tournament – Final)

(Underwood) — Underwood took advantage of seven Riverside errors to take the win and the championship.

 

Sydnie Collins was 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI while Lauren Shapcott had a hit and two runs batted in. Tobey Yates pitched well, giving up no earned runs.

Denison-Schleswig 7 Logan-Magnolia 1 (OA-BCIG Tournament – Final)

(Battle Creek) — Denison-Schleswig won the OA-BCIG Tournament championship with a 7-1 victory over Class 2A No. 5 Logan-Magnolia.

 

Chelsea Lautrup finished 2-for-3 for the Panthers.

 

Denison-Schleswig 1 OA-BCIG (OA-BCIG Tournament – Semifinals)

(Battle Creek) — Paige Lansink threw a complete game two-hit shutout to move the Lady Monarchs into the tournament final. The junior struck out six and walked two.

 

Payton Lee scored the lone run of the game when she reached on an error and advanced to second. Lee went to third on a passed ball and then came across when the ball was thrown into left field.

 

Logan-Magnolia 10 Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto 2 (OA-BCIG Tournament – Semifinals)

(Battle Creek) — Abby Straight struck out eight, Bergan Johnson had three hits and Dani Gochenour finished with two safeties, as the Panthers moved into the OA-BCIG Tournament final.

 

Carroll 13 Kuemper 10 (OA-BCIG Tournament – Consolation)

(Battle Creek) — Kuemper got three hits and a stolen base from Elise Berg in the loss. Ashley Sibenaller doubled, homered and drove in three from the leadoff spot.

 

Kuemper 12 MMC-Remsen Union (OA-BCIG Tournament – Consolation)

(Battle Creek) — Elise Berg and Tessa Sporrer had three this apiece. Berg hit a homer and drove in two while Sporrer had one RBI. Kendra Peter drove in three.

(Atlantic) — The Trojans finished the game with a 6-4-5 double play to take third place.

 

Perry won the championship with an 8-3 win over Treynor.

 

Denison-Schleswig 6 IKM-Manning 0 (Carroll Tournament)

(Carroll) — Denison-Schleswig won for the eighth straight game, winning in the first round of the Carroll Tournament.

 

Brandon Brotherton picked up the win on the mound, throwing a complete game five-hitter.

 

Sean Houston led at the plate with four hits in four at bats and stole three bases. Brayden Schurke had two hits and two RBI while Ben Weber had two hits and a double.

 

The Monarchs will play Sergeant Bluff-Luton in the semifinals on Sunday at 11:00 AM.

 

Kuemper 11 Algona 7 (Carroll Tournament)

(Carroll) — Kuemper scored five runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to lift the Knights into the semifinals against in-town rival, Carroll.

 

Adam Schleisman hit a home run among three hits and drove in four runs while Joe Mohr had two hits and two RBI and Rease Snyder had two hits, an RBI and three runs scored. Tyler Williams struck out seven in a complete game effort.
