PORT Glasgow Otters Swim Team beat off competition from 10 other teams to lift the Team Trophy at the Jubilee Gala.

This competition is held each year by a different club in the West of Scotland Federation of Swimming Clubs for Swimmers with a Disability and this year it was held in Scotstoun pool hosted by City of Glasgow Seals.

Eleven clubs took part and the swimmers were restricted to two events per swimmer. Each competitor was awarded points for their position at the end of each race and the 23 Port Glasgow Otters who took part were justly proud of their team’s achievement.

Although Tommy Hunter, Alex Horne, Angela Edmiston, Aimee Hagan, Lee Morrison, Kerrie Hunter, Paula Carroll and Stephen Coyle did not return with any medals, they were an important part of the winning team’s points total.

Several 4th places were awarded to the team. Just missing out on a medal were Kyle Brotherton, 25m freestyle (class7), Katy Boyle 100m backstroke and Keir McKechnie, 50m backstroke (class 2) and 50m freestyle (class 1).
