Gosnell tops Blytheville in summer league action

Farm Bureau pitcher, Ty Wagner, fires a pitch home Monday night against Rotary in a Cal Ripken Major League championship round game at the Blytheville Youth Sportsplex.

Blytheville Baseball Softball Boosters teams returned to action Monday night at the Blytheville Youth Sportsplex after a week and a half of rainouts. Softball tournaments wrapped up, Major League began their championship round, Minor League finished their regular season and high school action continued Monday night.

 

Only high school baseball league reported scores at press time.

Gosnell 11, Blytheville 2

 

Gosnell varsity defeated Blytheville, 11-2.

 

Leading Gosnell were Andrew Scott (two runs), Chad Wright (one run), Will Camp (two runs), Michael Miller (one run), Carlos Blackman (two runs), Dakota Atkison (two runs) and Ronnie McShan (one run).

 

Alex Draughn and DeCarlos Rainey scored runs for Blytheville.

 

 

JUNIOR VARSITY
Gosnell 25, Blytheville 3

 

Leading Gosnell were Zack Kibler (four runs), Cadarious Young (three runs), Devon Burkes (three runs), Hunter Jolly (two runs), Aaron Weeks (two runs), Andy Roberts (four runs), Dylon Hicks (two runs), Coty Keene (three runs) and Caleb Godsey (two runs).

 

Chris Pugh, Bo Self and Colin Campbell each scored a run a piece for Blytheville.

 

 

Kennett, Mo. 8, Rivercrest 2

 

Kennett, Mo. defeated Rivercrest, 8-2.

 

Zane Wallace, Dawson Britt, Chase Byers, Tyreick Thomas, Ty Ellis, Conner Oldson, Andrew Spence and Luke Lockhart each scored a run a piece to lead Kennett.

 

S. Glasgow and Zoe Chipman scored runs for Rivercrest.
