The last of Maryland’s transfers finally finds his home.
Former Maryland swingman Nick Faust has found his college destination and will transfer to Long Beach State, Jeff Goodman of ESPN is reporting. Faust originally committed to Oregon State, but re-opened his commitment after head coach Craig Robinson was dismissed.
Faust played three seasons with Maryland, but will likely have to sit out one year before playing his final season of eligibility. He averaged 9.4 points per game in each of his final two seasons with the Terps, but saw his shooting numbers fall pretty drastically in his final year with the program.
Faust originally committed to Maryland under Gary Williams, re-opening his commitment after the head coach’s retirement and re-committing after Mark Turgeon’s hiring. He had a troubled career with the Terps, especially offensively, but was able to make an impact on defense.
Long Beach State plays in the Big West Conference and last made the NCAA Tournament in 2012. They have made three straight postseason appearances, with NIT berths in 2011 and 2013.
Faust is the final Maryland transfer to find a home. Shaquille Cleare moved on to Texas, Roddy Peters transferred to South Florida, Seth Allen landed at Virginia Tech and Charles Mitchell ended up with Georgia Tech.
