The 4th annual Guitarfish Music Festival is a three-day, family-friendly, arts & music festival held Friday August 1 through Sunday August 3, 2014 at Cisco Grove Campground just west of Truckee. High in the Sierra, this venue offers a beautiful setting in which to enjoy summer fun with family and friends.

This year’s event features a stellar musical lineup on 2 stages, light shows nightly, Andrea Brook from Burning Man on the Sonic Butterfly, stilt walkers, fire spinners, and kid-friendly family camp with activities daily for the young-uns. Morning yoga classes are held on site daily. A wide variety of food and craft vendors will be on hand, plus beer, wine and coffee. Festival-style tent camping is included with admission to the festival, with RV/camper and private tent sites reservable at additional charge. Hot showers, water and electricity are available at the 300-acre, 300-site campground. World-class mountain and road biking, river swimming, rock climbing and hiking are some of the outdoor adventure activities available in the immediate area.

Free mountain biking shuttle service

Complimentary shuttle service to the popular Hole in the Ground trailhead is offered Saturday and Sunday morning at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30. Riders will appreciate the lift from Cisco Grove Campground’s location at 5100’ to the Hole in the Ground trailhead at 7239’, removing over 2000’ of climbing and allowing for over 3000’ of descent. Hole in the Ground is a 17 mile intermediate/advanced ride that offers a bit of everything including challenging climbs, technical downhill, and smooth, swoopy sections. After experiencing an epic day of riding, it’s an easy paved downhill grade back to camp. Shuttle service is also available by arrangement for other rides of varying difficulty levels.

Groups of 10+ receive a discounted rate on the 3-day pass, plus group tent sites are available by reservation to accommodate club camaraderie.

“Blue” festival gives back 10% to mountain bike advocacy

Guitarfish Music Festival was created to educate adults and children alike about the importance of caring for the water on our planet. The event raises awareness about overfishing and ocean pollution, and watershed, river and stream preservation. Guitarfish objectives place high importance on supporting other community efforts to “give back” and make a positive impact for the good of our planet. Recognizing that the mountain biking community is dedicated to stewardship of our forests and other public lands, Guitarfish will donate 10% of each festival ticket purchased by a mountain biker to the mountain biking advocacy organization of that rider’s choice.
