MFC Sports Performance in Darien to host first ‘Pentathlon’
DARIEN – Students who are looking to earn money for school can sign up now for the first MFC Sports Performance Pentathlon, June 27 and 28 at the complex, 8251 South Lemont Road in Darien.
Educational funding and prizes will be awarded during the MFC Sport Performance Pentathlon, which will benefit the Downers Grove based charity, Noah’s Hope.
The MFC Sports Performance Pentathlon will test the strength and endurance of both young athletes and adults with a series of five events: a 30-yard dash, chin-up hold, one minute bodyweight squats, one minute push-ups and a timed 500-meter row. Participants will be divided into groups of six based on age.
A monetary award will be given to the overall male and female winner in the adult age bracket and participants will be chosen at random from each age group to win merchandise prizes from area businesses and other prizes from MFCSP.
Pentathlon events will take place 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday; and from 9 a.m. to noon and 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday.
