Are you going on your first date? Asking these 5 questions will help you to understand the person better
Questions to ask on your first date
First dates do not always turn out as interesting and amazing as we expect them to be. Sometimes, after asking a few mandatory questions (think what’s up, how are you, what are your hobbies etc.), an awkward silence prevails, which both struggle to overcome. Sometimes finding the right questions to keep the conversation flowing becomes an impossible task. But if we don’t ask the right question, how will we understand the other person better? We have compiled a list of a few questions that will help you read your date like a book (without sounding like a detective), and make the entire affair a fun experience. Here you go…
Do you like your job?
This question might seem like a regular one but it reveals a lot about his/her nature. For instance, if they absolutely love what they do, there is a high probability of them being a satisfied and happy person. In case, they hate their job but are making efforts to improve their professional life or find a new job, it could be a sign that he or she is a go-getter and determined person. And if you find the person cribbing about his or her job, this might be a sign of a pessimistic person.
How do you spend your weekends?
How the person decides to spend his/her free time, especially weekends, can help you to guess their personality type. Whether the person likes to stay home and help in household chores, party all night, go on short trips, spend time with family or in a hobby class—you will definitely get a good idea about their likes, dislikes and priorities in life.
What do you like the most about your best friend?
This question would help you understand what traits he/she admires in people. Be all ears to their answer and try to understand their core values when it comes to relationships. They might open up about multiple qualities they admire in their best friend, and this could be the cue to know what they are seeking from their partner.
If you are given 10 lakhs, how would you spend this amount?
This surely is an interesting question and the person’s reply will reveal multiple things about him or her. Would they spend the amount travelling? Or, would they like to donate some part of it to an orphanage or an old-age home? Or, would they would use the money to buy a house, save the amount to start a business? The answers will hold the key to their nature—adventurous or altruistic, practical or emotional. You would also get an idea about their dreams and what they aspire in life.
What was your most embarrassing moment?
This question will again throw some light on their personality type and how they tackle awkward situations. Do they recall the situation with a great sense of humour and have let go whatever happened, or are they still embarrassed and holding a grudge against someone? Did they lose their temper easily or were easy going during the entire episode? How comfortable is the person in sharing uncomfortable things with you? You will be surprised to know some many things about the person based on the answer to this question.
