Culhane’s to host golf benefit for pancreatic research
A pancreatic cancer survivor and the owners of Culhane’s Irish Pub will host a golf tournament Friday for Northeast Florida-based pancreatic cancer research.
The first Culhane’s Celtic Open Golf Tournament will be held at the Jacksonville Beach Municipal Golf Course, 605 South Penman Road.
The cost is $80 per person.
Registration begins at 10:30 a.m., followed by the opening of the practice range at 11 a.m., shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. and afterparty at Culhane’s at 5 p.m., according to a news release.
Culhane’s is located at 967 Atlantic Blvd., Atlantic Beach.
Proceeds go to the Florida Pancreas Cancer Coalition, which was co-founded by Pat McLaughlin, a Jacksonville survivor and administrative law judge for the Social Security Administration.
The coalition was founded to “invest in local, yet world class, pancreas cancer research where our local neighbors can feel that they are part of the team and actually see and experience where their money is going and what it is accomplishing,” according to a news release.
