The Sapulpa Lions Club welcomed Chieftain Baseball Coach Mike Moore and Softball Coach Brad Evans to their weekly luncheon and meeting on Wednesday.Both coached are new to the Chieftain staff and take over programs that are looking to take a step forward as they compete against the bigger Class 6A schools.
Both coaches said they were glad to be a part of the Sapulpa community and thanked the citizens and boosters for their unwavering support.
The big topic hit on by both coaches was the fact that there was so much competitive ball being played right now that it is hard to build team cohesion with players playing for different teams all season long.
The coaches said they have reached out to the little league coaches and stressed the importance of putting a system in place where the kids are a part of Sapulpa baseball and softball from a young age.
