Boys & Girls Club members attend Coding Camp

A group of middle school members of the Boys & Girls Club of Salem, Marion and Polk Counties were introduced to computer programming at Coding Camp during Spring Break.

The Boys & Girls Club, in collaboration with Galaxux, conducted the camp at Chemeketa Community College. The partnership is part of the club’s focus on providing youths a 21st century skill set to be successful in future career pathways.

The objective was to introduce kids to programming by making it an easy, action-filled, fun and rewarding activity via safe and secure mobile devices. Members of the Galaxux team from across the nation showed a demo along with code samples, and the youths were able to try out some basics using the Micile tablet.
