Cricket action in Rajkot

While all eyes are currently traded in Dhaka, where the World T20 action is happening, Rajkot cricket fans will not have to wait for too long before they can witness a plethora of class cricketers in their own city.

The good news is that matches of the Super League stage of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy will be played in Rajkot along with Mumbai from April 8 to 14. Even though the final is slated to be held in Mumbai, Rajkot fans can’t complain.

Players from Haryana, Goa, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh are clubbed in Group A, while the other half comprises of Delhi, Kerala, Bengal, Baroda and Rajasthan.

Group A matches will be held in Rajkot and Mumbai will host the Group B games which means Gujarat players along with UP and Haryana stars will line up in the sleepy city.

While Haryana take on Goa, North zone table toppers Delhi will face Kerala on the opening day. First day’s action will also feature Bengal versus Baroda, with Jharkhand taking on Gujarat in the other group.

Just in the end of February, Rajkot hosted the Ramakant Desai West Zone one-day meet which saw Mumbai, Maharashtra, Baroda Gujarat and hosts Saurashtra in action.

Seems like, Rajkot is the center of attraction in terms of cricket.
