‘Amazing Race’ 2014 Spoilers: Rivalry Between Cowboys & Afghanimals To Grow & Result In Potential U-Turn Drama?

The fierce competition between the Amazing Race: All-Stars teams has been fairly tame all season, but a small rivalry between the Cowboys and Afghanimals could heat things up as the race enters its second half of competition.

Alliances Up The Level Of Competition In Second Half Of ‘All-Stars?’

Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, a.k.a. “The Afghanimals,” have made small comments throughout the season about how much they resent that The Cowboy Brothers, Jet and Cord McCoy have been able to breeze through most tasks, allowing them to finish in first place in two of the first 6 legs, and to finish in the top 3 in all but the second leg.

In the March 30 episode, as they raced to the finish line in Sri Lanka, the rivalry flared up more drastically as the two teams engaged in both a taxi and foot race to the finish line. By mere seconds, the Afghanimals were able to edge past the Cowboys and win 1st place.

Margie and Luke Frustrated Over Lack Of ‘Deaf-Friendly’ Tasks?

In an unaired interview clip, the Cowboys appeared to be upset over their just-missed 3rd leg win, and vowed that the battle between themselves and the Afghanimals would still rage on.

“You always hate to win second, it kind of stings a little,” Jet says in the clip.

“The war is definitely not over, but I don’t think you ever get used to winning second,” Cord adds.

Temory’s Twitter account also hints to a more competitive spirit between he and his cousin and the Cowboy brothers in episodes to come.

On April 7, he retweeted a post by a fan that talked about the rivalry that had flared up between the teams in the last episode.

“With the ACM on TV instead of AR, the cowboys won over the Indians, err the Afghans, I meant. Missed @LeoTemory and @JamalZadran. #hugefan,” Junnie Arreza wrote.

Though nothing has been confirmed by CBS, a popular tool teams have used on their rivals in past seasons of the race is the U-Turn, which requires a team to compete an extra task. No U-Turns have come into play yet during the All Star season, but if they do show up in these later legs, fans could see the Afghanimals and Cowboys turning on one another even more.
