Driver With 4 Prior DUI Convictions Passes Out In Jack In The Box Drive-Thru

 Just after midnight on April 4th, Spokane Valley Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a person who appeared to be passed out in his vehicle. The vehicle was blocking the drive-thru at Jack in the Box located at 1505 North Pines in Spokane Valley.

When deputies arrived on scene, the driver was still passed out with the car parked and engine running. The driver was identified as 34-year-old Johnathan E. Meyers, and was observed to have poor balance, slow movements, slurred speech, red glossy eyes and had an odor of an alcoholic beverage omitting from his breath as he spoke.

 

The driver submitted to field sobriety evaluations and was then arrested for driving while intoxicated. It was also discovered that Meyers’ driving privileges where suspended in the 1st degree and he had 4 prior DUI convictions. He also was required to have an Ignition Interlock Device in his vehicle which he did not have.

 

Meyers was transported and booked in the Spokane County Jail for Felony DUI due to his past convictions and Misdemeanors for Driving While License Suspended in the 1st Degree and Ignition Interlock Violation.

 

A search warrant was obtained for a blood draw and a sample was sent to the lab for testing.
