A man suffered self-inflicted injuries on his right and left thighs in afreak incident while hunting in a jungle near Simunjan on Saturday.
In the around 1pm incident, the 52-year-old together with his brother-in-law and a few friends, entered the jungle at Kampung Melanjok.
It was said that the victim was about to open fire on an animal when he suddenly lost his balance and tripped, causing the gun to go off near him.
He was rushed to Simunjan Hospital for treatment and later transferred to Sarawak General Hospital.
