Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield go sightseeing on a Vespa in break from promoting Spider Man 2

They are in the midst of a busy promotional tour for new movie Spider Man 2.

But when in Rome, Andrew Garfield and girlfriend Emma Stone felt the need to do some sightseeing.

Garfield, who plays the lead role of Peter Paker, took the front seat while Emma sat behind him and took in the sights and sounds of the city.

Both sporting helmets, the two jetted around town, passing by the city’s historic center and popular tourist destinations.

They cruised by the Colosseum, several monuments and museums.

Midway through their ride, around the city, the couple stopped off for lunch at in the romantic neighborhood of Trastevere to indulge in some home-made pasta.
Emma, 25, who plays Peter’s love interest Gwen Stacy in the movie, met Andrew in 2011 on the set of the first Amazing Spider-Man film.

On Friday, the stars attended the première of the movie in Paris.

Emma wore a very daring black strapless dress  that looked rather like a fashionable version of a sexy superheroes’ costume.

Making sure the dress took centre stage, which really wasn’t that tricky, she wore her hair off her face in stylish chignon and a sexy dash of bright red lipstick.

Andrew’s straight suit looked rather boring in comparison, but the British born actor certainly steals the show onscreen with his costume, which he admitted he has gone incognito as the character in his spare time.

‘I have been known to suit up when I’m out and about,’ he said on the red carpet in London.

When asked if he gets recognised, he said: ‘Of course not. That’s the beauty of the costume. They probably see it as a weird guy in a Spider-Man costume so they keep their distance.’

He revealed slipping back into Spidey’s slinky suit for the second time was a joy, saying: ‘I loved it. I’ve wanted to be Spider-Man ever since I was three so any chance I have, I’m in there.’

Jamie Foxx and Dane DeHaan, who portray the film’s villains Max Dillon/Electro and Harry Osborn/Green Goblin respectively, were also at the star-studded event along with director Marc Webb and producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 centres on Peter Parker as he struggles to balance high school with his secret superhero life, with a few new enemies thrown in to keep him on his toes.
