Hunter x Hunter Animation Director Shows Off 18000 Frames
Takahiko Abiru, one of the animation directors for the ongoing Hunter x Hunter anime posted pictures of the approximately 18,000 frames that he drew for the show over it’s run since 2011. Since last December, he has been uploading pictures of individual frames and commenting on them via his Twitter site, encouraging fans to stay tuned for “more fun toward climax” in coming episodes.
Among some of the comments that he left on his pictures was that he believed his portrayal of Kilua during the Greed Island arc to be a little too young and naive looking. He also gave a sneak peek of a frame featuring Hisoka, to be included in an upcoming episode.
Back in January, Abiru posted an image of Isaac Netero in honor of the passing of Ichirô Nagai. Nagai was the voice actor who first portrayed the character in the 2011 reboot anime.
Abiru updates his Twitter regularly and continues to post frames as he draws them. You can follow them yourself and keep an eye out for your favorite character by following him.
