Loos Named NWC Men’s Field Student-Athlete of the Week

 

 

Jordan Loos (Jr., Springfield, Ore./Thurston HS) has been selected as the Northwest Conference Men’s Field Student-Athlete of the Week after setting a  new personal record of 202′ 4.50″ in the javelin throw at the John Knight Twilight on Friday, April 11.

 

Loos also moved into second place on the NCAA Division III performance list with his top distance in the javelin. At the John Knight Twilight, he finished in fourth place behind one NAIA and two NCAA Division II throwers.

 

The 202′ 4.50″ mark places Loos up to fifth place on Willamette’s all-time list. His previous best was 195′ 4″, set at this year’s Willamette Invitational on March 29.

 

Loos also competed in the hammer throw over the weekend, finishing fifth with a distance of 167′ 0.50″.

 

After a week layoff, the Bearcats will return to action on April 25-26 at the NWC Championships, which will be hosted by the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash. Events are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. (PDT).
