The Three Ways You Can Control Your Arthritis
Arthritis is a real concern in the ageing population and it’s becoming a genuine threat for younger people too. Even though you’d traditionally think of the inflammatory joint condition as affecting only the elderly a recent study has shown that up to ¼ of all arthritic patients are under the age of 65 and of that number are diagnosed as children. Arthritis is so widespread and well known that there are dozens of treatments on offer to help deal with the symptoms, both the holistic and the pharmaceutical. The condition is chronic so patients will be forever managing symptoms and will most likely suffer from arthritis until they die. Regardless of where you come down on holistic cures and medicinal treatments, there are three things which you can do to help make sure your arthritis doesn’t get out of control.
- Keep Moving.
Joints cease up if they don’t get enough motion. This is true in mechanics and in ourselves. By keeping up some light exercise you’ll help to ease symptoms like pain or lack of mobility while keeping healthy. It’s important not to overdo it as too much exertion will actually damage your joints and any positive benefits will be lost. - Eat well
You’re going to have to give up the junk food and eat healthily. There’s nothing worse for your joints than lots of processed foods and if you overdo it on these things you’ll end up causing a nasty reaction which inflames your joints even further. - See your Doctor
They’ll have the best advice for you and be able prescribe the best remedies and treatments for your symptoms. Don’t be afraid to badger them with questions, it’s important that you fully understand your condition and it’s their job to make sure that you do!
