Go treasure hunting on Ratchaprasong

 

 

Ratchaprasong Square will once again turn many popular areas within its shopping district into venues where shoppers and tourists will enjoy outdoor 3D and 4D street-art paintings created by famous artists from around the world.

Back for the second year, the “Living Arts Festival 2014 @ Ratchaprasong” will see 31 world-class artists creating their works until May 8. Each of them comes with a different working schedule yet visitors can expect to see them working on their sketches from 10am to 7pm. Thereafter, the complete works will be displayed for one month until June 8.

This year’s theme is “Treasure Hunting” and the street-art creations will be seen at many open areas at Gaysorn shopping centre, Groove at CentralWorld, Platinum fashion mall as well as the Ratchaprasong Skywalk from Chidlom BTS station to Pathumwanaram Temple.

 

Selected artists for this year’s showcase include Tracy Lee Stum and Julie Kirk Purcell from the US, Filip Mrvelj from Croatia, Marion Ruthardt and Gregor Wosik from Germany, as well as a local names such as Che Chavala. They are well-known for their decent paintings.

 

Set to show off their talent in Thailand for the first time at Ratchaprasong will be Max Zorn from the Netherlands, Erica & Struan from New Zealand and Daniel Connell from Australia.

 

The festival will also boast other shows including Tape Art, a new-wave or modern art creation, live music on the streets, and many living statues performed by professional teams from around the world, including Stone Hearted and Quacker from the Netherlands, Blanco from Germany and The Butler & Mr Doll from Australia.
