Go to Source

The Rotary Club of Pacifica is looking for volunteers to assist with the painting of the Pacifica Spindrift Players theater at Oddstad Park.

Looking for a spring project? The Rotary Club of Pacifica is taking on the exterior painting of the Oddstad Park theater used by the Pacifica Spindrift Players, since the 1960’s, for their year-round season of theater productions and performing arts classes and programs. It’s time for a theater facelift and you can help make it happen.

The work begins the weekend of May 31-June 1 and continues on the weekends of June 7- 8, 21-22 with the finishing touches and celebration the weekend of June 28-29. There is lots of work to be done. The first weekend will focus on preparing for the painting with removing vegetation from around the building, window trim repair, fixing damaged gutters and patching holes in the building surface. The second weekend will be spent setting up the scaffolding and power washing the building surface and decks. The third weekend will find volunteers taping the windows and doors and beginning the actual application of paint and finishing the painting the final weekend.

Interested in volunteering? One day, all the days? Join the team. Rotary and the PSP are encouraging community volunteers to join in the fun and comradely while making a major contribution to one of Pacifica’s wonderful cultural arts traditions. Have ladders, power washers, shop vacs or other painting equipment to lend the project? Contact Bob Jacobsen, Rotary Painting Project Chair at 650-248-9500 to volunteer or lend equipment.

Paint for the project is being graciously donated by Kelly Moore Paint Co. in South San Francisco.
