A CAPACITY crowd packed in to the Moruya Bowling Club auditorium on Friday Night for an evening of entertainment featuring special guest Steve Mortimer.

LEGEND OF LEAGUE: Steve Mortimer, Moruya Sharks Rugby League Club president and event organiser Justin Zutt and MC, ABC Radio’s Bill Woods.<br />

Mortimer an Australian, NSW and Canterbury legend, entertained the guests with stories from his illustrious career as well as opinions of the modern game.

As a director of the Canterbury Rugby League Club, Steve has the ear and respect of the current administrators of the game, and was happy to share his unique insights.

Mortimer was joined on stage by local boy and media personality Bill Woods, who acted as MC for the night.

Woods who, among other commitments, is co-host of ABC Radio’s “The Hit-up” on Sunday afternoons, also shared his insights and opinions of the modern game.

The night included a video of a much younger Mortimer in his playing days back in the 1980s as well as a memorabilia auction, two-course meal and a disco to conclude.

A raffle was also held, with the first prize a fully signed Hull-Kingston Rovers Jersey as worn and donated by Michael Weyman.

The event was a fundraiser for the Moruya Sharks Rugby League Club.

President Justin Zutt welcomed the gathered crowd and thanked them for their support.
