The Chicago Bears claimed offensive tackle Michael Ola off waivers from the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, according to the league’s official transactions report, and released cornerback Derrick Martin with a non-football injury designation.

Chicago’s addition of Ola reunites him with Bears coach Marc Trestman as the two worked together in the Canadian Football League with the Montreal Alouettes for two seasons (2012-13). Ola started five games for the Alouettes in 2012, which also was Trestman’s last season in the NFL.

Ola worked out for the Bears back in December, but eventually signed with the Dolphins, which released him at the conclusion of three-day rookie minicamp.

Martin, meanwhile, appeared in seven games for the Bears last season. His previous NFL stops included the Baltimore Ravens, Green Bay Packers, New York Giants and New England Patriots.
