West Coast Hawks def Elliston 41-35
Elliston’s defences played well and capitalised on Hawks’ missed goals with particular strong rebounding by Elliston’s goal defence.
Hawks started to settle through the second quarter and their goalies gained confidence to be up by seven at half time.
Elliston shot very well in the third quarter, outscoring Hawks 13-8.
Hawks kept their lead to be two up at three quarter time.
The last quarter was up and down with silly errors by both sides but Hawks kept their lead to win by six.
Western Districts def Central Eyre 42-25
Teams started the quarter with quick movement down the court with both sides contesting the ball.
It was a very even game, with goalies shooting well at both ends, but Western Districts led by 12 goals at the first break.
The game started slower in the second quarter with both teams settling well.
Western Districts delivered their passes accurately into the ring and Sharyn Feltus and Lauren Cook were getting many intercept in the ring.
Play was quite even throughout the quarter.
With changes being made to both teams due to injury, it took a bit for players to settle again.
Districts certainly dominated in the last quarter with more intercepts and Coby Tomney and Courtney Beard not missing many goals.
Centrals’ defenders played well, but Districts ran out winners.
Wirrulla def Wudinna United 42-37
Wirrulla came out strong and got the first goal on the board.
After working the ball around the ring well they were soon up by four goals.
Wudinna settled and were soon back in the game.
It was an even second quarter as teams worked the ball down the court and in the goal ring cleanly.
Wirrulla was able to finish off well, giving them a 26-18 lead.
Both teams’ defensive players really worked hard in the third quarter, so goalies had to work hard to get every goal.
Wirrulla made a few easy mistakes, letting Wudinna peg back a couple of goals.
Wirrulla led 32-26 at three quarter time.
A great last quarter from both sides but Wirrulla won by five goals.

B grade
West Coast Hawks def Elliston 45-15
Play started with both teams making unforced errors, which created a messy game.
Hawks settled first and their defence work created opportunities for their goalies and they led 12-0 at quarter time.
Hawks’ defenders continued to play well and the court opened up with mid court players creating a good flow.
Elliston settled late in the quarter and started to score but they trailed by 16 goals at half time.
Elliston continued to play a more settled game, giving more scoring opportunities but Hawks played the more direct netball which gave them a handy 18 goal lead at three quarter time.
Hawks dominated the last quarter with defences creating turnovers and youth outrunning Elliston all the way down the court.

Western Districts def Central Eyre 40-33
Very accurate shooting by goalies in both teams meant the score was even at 11 at the end of the first quarter.
It was a hard fought quarter with both teams going goal for goal.
The second quarter was another very even quarter with attackers playing well.
Districts’ centre Amy Moroney drove well and Centrals’ wing defence Mardi O’Brien helped to bring the ball down the court for her team.
Centrals led by one goal at half time.
The third quarter was very evenly fought, with a few changes for Central Eyre as Kelly O’Brien came off injured.
This didn’t interrupt the pace of the game though, as scores were level at 30 all at three quarter time.
Districts girls edged themselves a gradual lead, with great drive by the centre court players and the Tomney sisters in the ring.

Wudinna United def Wirrulla 52-37
Wudinna United started out strong with consistent play down the court.
Wirrulla began to settle and the levelled the score at 12 at quarter time.
The heat began to take its toll on all players, affecting timing and accuracy on both sides.
Wirrulla led by one goal at half time.
Wudinna made changes to their side, which saw them dominate the third quarter.
They led by 17 goals at three quarter time.
Wirrulla picked up their game again in the last quarter, but were unable to regain their third quarter downfall.

C grade
West Coast Hawks def Elliston 62-14
Hawks started off strong with some great drives through the centre and efficient shooting.
Hawks player Tara Jelinek had some great intercepts.
Elliston had some good shots, but Hawks continued to dominate, resulting in a strong lead.
West Coast were consistent with some great passes, strong shooting and solid defence.
The third quarter was a consistent one for the Hawks, with strong defence by goal keeper Tara Jelinek, who managed to keep Elliston’s goals down to two.
Hawks finished strongly to win by 48 goals.

Wudinna United def Wirrulla 42-17
Wudinna made a strong start in the first quarter in the hot afternoon sun.
Wirrulla were struggling to get goals in the second quarter, while Wudinna put some fresh legs on the court.
Annika Kirvan came in to centre, which provided more speed to help Wudinna create a greater lead of 18-9 at half time.
As Wirrulla tired in the third quarter, Wudinna continued their strong game and showed they were out to win.
At third quarter time they had made an impressive lead of 30-11.
In the fourth quarter Wirrulla were strong, but were unable to stop Wudinna from increasing their lead.

D grade
Central Eyre def Western Districts 37-20
In warm and blustery conditions, the game started messy but it was Central Eyre who settled first to lead 12-6 at the first change.
Western Districts settled their play in the second quarter to create a more even contest, but some accurate shooting by Central Eyre goalies saw them lead 24-10 at half time.
Positional changes for both teams were made, but it was Districts who took the upper hand for the quarter.
Some great attacking by Bianca Fromm saw the scores level for the quarter, but Central Eyre still held a 14-goal lead going into the last quarter.
It was a greatly contested last quarter with some great netball by both teams but Central Eyre’s strong start saw them win 37-20.

Wudinna United def Wirrulla 50-26
Both teams started out strong in what was a very hot day for netball.
Wudinna United took off towards the end of the quarter, and they continued to play strongly and shoot well in the second quarter.
Half time saw a change in both teams for fresh legs on a hot day.
Wudinna shot well with some beautiful goals but Bombers’ defence were also playing well.
Wudinna shot well again in the last quarter to win.
The game was very consistent throughout the whole quarter, as Wudinna had the young legs to get them over the line.

Under 15
Elliston def West Coast Hawks 46-44
This game started very evenly but Elliston settled and had a nine-goal lead at quarter time.
Hawks came out and played a tighter defensive game in the second quarter and they were able to reduce the score difference to six at half time.
There was even play by both teams in the third quarter, but once again Elliston capitalised on a few mistakes and increased their lead back to a nine goal difference.
Hawks’ defence and good team play allowed them to slowly peg the difference back.
At one point it was 41 all, but a couple of mistakes enabled Elliston to capitalise with three quick goals, to give them the win.
Wudinna United def Wirrulla 41-36
Wudinna United started strong with good defence and turnovers.
Wirrulla were unsettled at the start, but finished strong to lead at the break 11-9.
Both teams started the second quarter well and while excellent defence by the Wudinna defenders resulted in turnovers, but they were unable to capitalise.
Wirrulla shot accurately to lead at the half time break, 21-15.
Wudinna made changes in the shooting positions, which seemed to strengthen their game and they came back to be even on 28.
Wudinna finished strong in the last quarter to take the game 41-36.

Under 13
Elliston def West Coast Hawks 29-6
Elliston started out strong and played well all over the court with accuracies in the goal circle.
Elliston continued with strong play in the second quarter and they pushed hard to move further ahead.
West Coast Hawks came back in the third quarter and improved in passing.
Elliston finished off with great shooting and were too strong on the day.

Western Districts def Central Eyre 30-5
The first was a close quarter by both teams with defenders creating lots of turnovers.
Western Districts took a narrow lead into the first quarter break.
It was a good second quarter from Tigers, getting in front and moving the ball better down the court.
Some accurate shooting by Rebekah Forrest and Kimberly Coleman saw Districts extend their lead at half time.
Changes to Districts’ line up saw Renalyn Schlink come into goal attack. This created drive into Districts’ goal ring, finished off with more accurate goal shooting by the Districts goalies.
Central Eyre’s mid court and defenders were trying hard and picking up loose balls, but Districts goalies’ accuracy was hard to stop.
In a great match to watch by both teams, Districts came out winners.

Wirrulla def Wudinna United 30-26
The first two quarters were evenly contested.
The third quarter saw Wirrulla draw away with some excellent goal shooting.
Wudinna fought back, playing hard and outplayed Wirrulla in the last quarter, but Wirrulla just got over the line by four goals.
