Thevenard def Koonibba 38-34

 

BOTH teams started this match determined to come out on top.

 

Throughout the whole game every player from both sides was picking up their opponent’s errors.

 

Due to evenly matched skills the score was level at 11 at quarter time, at 17 at half time and again level on 24 at three quarter time.

 

Thevenard capitalised from a few of Koonibba’s errors in the last quarter, which saw them come out on top to win by four goals.

 

A great display of hard played netball.

Ceduna Blues United def Western United 59-38

 

Ceduna Blues United started strongly in the first quarter to set up a four-goal lead at the first break.

 

Their defensive pressure all over the court forced errors from the Western United players.

 

In the second quarter, Westies came out more determined.

 

Accurate passing to their shooter Bronwyn Workman enabled them to score goal for goal with the home team.

 

Strong drives in the second half of the game by Ceduna Blues United attackers saw them have a goal scoring spree to lead by 16 going into the last quarter.

 

At times, play became messy as players tired, but Ceduna Blues United kept working hard to win by 21 goals.

B grade

Ceduna Blues United Blue def Western United 51-39

 

In the warm conditions both teams started evenly playing goal for goal and the score was even at quarter time, 13-13.

 

Western United capitalised on Blues’ untidy play in the second quarter, winning the quarter by four goals.

 

Ceduna Blues United made some changes at half time and came out firing.

 

Despite some hard efforts by Westies, Blues made a 12-goal turn around, and were eight goals up at three quarter time.

 

The final quarter saw Blues consolidate their lead by playing strong, consistent netball in defence and attack.

C grade

 

Thevenard Black def Thevenard White 37-21

 

Both teams came out strong in the first quarter and the play was very even throughout the court.

 

Thevenard Black picked up their work rate in the warm conditions and led by seven goals at half time.

 

The third quarter saw some changes by Thevenard White but due to the brilliant reading of the ball by Simone Yendall, Thevenard White only scored one goal for the quarter.

 

Thevenard Black played strong and consistent netball and came out winners by 16 goals.

Western United def Ceduna Blues United 46-37

 

This was the second time the teams have met.

 

Strong defence work was displayed by both teams but at half time Western United had a four-goal lead.

 

Kelly Sleep and Amanda Michalanney worked hard through the centre as the warm weather took its toll.

 

Ceduna Blues United battled hard throughout the third quarter to reduce the gap to two.

 

Western United went out strong in the last quarter to win by nine.

D grade

Ceduna Blues United def Western United 43-22

 

On a warm day at Smoky Bay, Ceduna Blues United and Western United lined up for the first time this season.

 

The first quarter was tight all over the court and Ceduna Blues United had a small lead of two goals at the end of the quarter.

 

Westies had an injury due to the hot weather and played the remainder of the game with six players.

 

Ceduna Blues United persisted with pressure all over the court and continued to extend their lead each quarter.

 

Westies fought hard and never looked like giving in.

Ceduna Blues United def Western United 29-14

 

It was another beautiful day for netball.

 

Ceduna Blues United started off very strong with lots of great leads and back up play.

 

Western United defence worked very hard to stop the ball from entering Blues’ goal circle.

 

Ceduna Blues United proved too strong but Westies never gave up.
