GCT Presents The Secret Garden musical and Annual Blue Parrot Cabaret for Gettysburg Fest
The Gettysburg Community Theatre, the non profit 501c3 community theatre now in its 6th year in the old Elks Lodge at 49 York Street within the first block if Lincoln Square in historic downtown Gettysburg, will once again be part of The Gettysburg Fringe Festival as they present their musical The Secret Garden, based on the novel by Frances Hodgson Burnett, on June 12, 13, 20 & 21 at 7pm and June 15 & 22 at 2pm at GCT, as well as present the annual Canary Cabaret At The Blue Parrot Bistro on June 13 & 14 at 10pm at The Blue Parrot Bistro located at 35 Chambersburg Street in downtown Gettysburg.
GCT’s Founding Executive/Artistic Director, Chad-Alan Carr, is very pleased to once again host the annual Festival tradition of the Canary Cabaret At The Blue Parrot Bistro, with this year’s cast of singers from PA, D.C. and NYC presenting their favorite songs of everything from Broadway to The Beatles! Singers will include local favorite and Broadway Veteran, Bruce Moore, Gettysburg College Alumni Ed Riggs, Sean Mott and Kyleigh Grim, GAHS Assistant Band Director Carrie Trax accompanied on guitar by her father David Conklin who is the GAHS Band Director, joined by Dustin LeBlanc and Lindsay Bretz-Morgan from Carlisle Theatre Company, Robyn Colossa who studied Musical Theatre in NYC, and York’s Emily Falvey who once opened for The Oakridge Boys, along with Mary George and Adam Rineer at the piano with many more singers from PA theatres as well. The Canary Cabaret At The Blue Parrot Bistro has a $10 cover for all. Dinner reservations before 9pm can be made at The Blue Parrot Bistro to be sure patrons get the best seats for the cabaret. This year’s cabaret Broadway To The Beatles is a benefit for GCT’s Taylor Zimmerman Memorial Scholarship.
Broadway Veteran and Gettysburg native, Bruce Moore, directs the musical The Secret Garden at Gettysburg Community Theatre this June 12-22. Tickets are $15 limited reserved seating and include complimentary refreshments. The cast features Gettysburg College Alumni Sean Mott and Kyleigh Grim, along with Hanover resident Alyssa Meyers and Gettysburg residents Grant Sanders, Robyn Colossa and Harrison Crow as the leading characters along with a cast of 30 children, teens and adults from all over the Adams/York counties. Adam Rineer music directs and Becca Willett stage manages this beautiful musical, based on the novel of the same name, is about a girl who loses her parents and must find happiness in a secret garden with her new family at her uncle’s home. The Canary Cabaret At The Blue Parrot Bistro and The Secret Garden musical at GCT are part of the Gettysburg Fringe Festival, the community compliment to the Gettysburg Festival June 12-15, 2014.
