Participants in the 26th Annual Sugar Valley Rally have crossed the finish line after covering nearly 400 miles of road around the panhandle.
As teams slowly pulled into park on 7th Street today there were mixed emotions from all members.First-timers say they enjoyed the rally and the weather this weekend was perfect.
For others who had competed in the rally before they say they would’ve hoped to have done better.
One navigator, Rob Barney, says staying alert and sharp to make all the right turns was the most challenging.
“The race over all is great, I’ve been in a lot of them. The first one this year as far as the actual rallying, we didn’t do well today. The navigator which is me was asleep. We missed a couple of turns. Yesterday was awesome so one out of two days isn’t bad,” said Barney.
Winners in this year’s rally include team Kuck who drove a 1917 Hudson Indy racer and team Kern and Snow who drove a 1935 Ford Tudor.
