Sky diving set to return

THE way is open for sky diving to return to Clarence Valley airfields.

This afternoon the Clarence Valley Council Environment Planning and Works committee will look at a report recommending sky diving operations can begin again at regional airfields, subject to issue of development consents and legal advice to the council.

In 2012 the council decided to stop Coffs City Skydivers using the South Grafton Aerodrome after it was claimed the company had breached safety protocols.

The company defended its record and an acrimonious relationship developed between the two bodies.

Last September council deferred making a decision on the issue until it could obtain advice on the highly technical issues involved.
