Crafts in the Tower Start Festivities Arts Trail

There will be a full house at the Square Tower next Sunday 22nd June when ighteen of the Crafts in the Tower artists  exhibit their work on the two floors of the ancient building. 

 

This will be the first stop in the Portsmouth Festivities Art Trail, where visitors can collect a map of all the Art Trail venues on Spice Island.

 

At the Square Tower you can see a huge variety of work including landscape paintings by Mel Brundritt, animal portraits by Bob McQuillan and Emily Burrows and Sue Meredith’s collaged prints of Portsmouth streets.

 

There will be silver jewellery by Sharon Justice and work in semi-precious stones by Katherine Webber.  There will be both stained glass and fused glass work.  Traditional crafts will be represented by blacksmith Lucille Scott and wood turner Gary Renouf.  Two textile artists will show their very distinctive work. There will also be origami, photography and sculptures in wood and ceramic.

 

The Square Tower’s tea room will also be open.

 

The Art Trail runs from 11am to 4pm and admission is free.
