Young professional mixed martial arts fighter Tanera “The Terror” Terry improved his record to two wins and one loss at the Domination fight night in Christchurch on Saturday.

The Palmerston North 18-year-old from the Fight Shop NZ gym dominated his bout of three five-minute rounds against Wellington’s Grant Toa Toa with a unanimous points decision. Terry now has to face undefeated Bryce Gambarazzi in Hastings on Saturday.

Fight Shop had three others make the trek to Christchurch, and Airana “Ninja” Ngarewa won his debut match, beating Ryan Kerekere of Christchurch in less than 30 seconds thanks to an arm bar submission. The match was scheduled for three three-minute rounds but Ngarewa won on a referee stoppage after dislocating Kerekere’s shoulder for Fight Shop’s fastest-ever finish in an MMA bout.

Kingi Hiroti lost his three two-minute-round Muay Thai bout on a points decision to opponent Aiden Rock from Christchurch.

Fight promoters could not find an opponent for Tenali “Iron” Iosefa.
