Models under the hammer

More than 100 people arrived at the hangar at Classic Flyers to get a bargain on miniature aircrafts for their collection, or new parts and engines for their models in the making.
Club president Bill Derenzy is pleased with today’s auction, complimenting the weather for helping make the day a success.
“It was a nice warm day and we’ve had many people turn up from all over the countryside.”
Of the hundreds of models under the hammer today were war birds such as spitfires and hurricanes to competition sport models, gliders and small electric planes.
“There was a very wide range,” says Bill.
The auction is the club’s biggest event of the year, raising money to fund the running of the club at TECT All Terrain Park.
“It has a long history of being a very good auction to come to with very good products and you can get a bargain,” says Bill.
