He is often adhering to a strict fitness regime on the pitch.

So it’s perhaps surprising that footballer Peter Crouch would want to replicate that on one of his rare days off from the beautiful game.

But that’s exactly what he did when he spent Sunday in London’s Hyde Park.

The pair ventured out as the capital basked in hot weather with Abbey’s mother and two friends.

Wearing a pair of denim shorts and a white shirt, Peter looked summery and fashionable as he joined in the family fun.

Accustomed to making the grade – and also benefiting from a height advantage – he cleared the skipping rope with ease.

Hilariously, Abbey – dressed in skinny grey jeans and a blue vest – was less successful.

Even though the rope was held lower down, she failed to jump over it…much to the delight of her friends and family, who found it amusing.

It clearly wasn’t a problem though, as Peter planted her a playful kiss on the lips.

The couple have plenty of time to kill during the summer months, with Peter’s lack of involvement with England as the partake in the World Cup.

Crouch – who was capped 42 times by England – will be watching Roy Hodgson’s boys from the side throughout the championship in Brazil.

The former international last played for his country as a last ditch substitute during their dismal 0-0 draw against Algeria at the 2010 World Cup Finals in South Africa.
