Longview’s Backwoods Bombshells roller derby team played against Tyler’s East Texas Bombers roller derby team Saturday June 14th in Jacksonville Texas. Game points ended with East Texas Bombers @ 303 and Backwoods Bombshells @ 106. No major injuries to report. This was a very tough game for both teams. East Texas Bombers boast an undefeated season so far. Backwoods Bombshells will be the team on site at the Longview Fairgrounds before the firework display on July 4th. These girls volunteer their time and money to local charities. Not only doing it for the love of roller derby but the love of their community. This sport is very intense both physically and emotionally. The girls on these teams are an inspiration to those that know them. A lot goes into planning and facilitating these events. Thanks to all of the referees and non-skating officials for traveling from all over East Texas and Skateland USA in Jacksonville Texas for helping to support this event.
