How To Get The Most Out Of Running

Want to stop your Heart Attacking RUN FOR ITAlthough everyone knows that incorporating fitness in your life is important, it can become a bit of a chore. Going to the gym in particular can be very dull, as you find yourself stuck within the same four walls, listening to the pounding noise of the treadmills and spending time in the company of other people, who are all sweating and trying to train at the same time. As much as you realise that it is good for your wellness to stay fit, you can find yourself avoiding the gym, and soon those good habits can slip.

Instead of going to the gym, however, why not try an exercise that is more immediate, free and is right outside your front door. We refer, of course, to running. One of the big benefits of running is that it is something that you can do alone, if you prefer, so that you can relax and unwind and spend some time in your own headspace without having to think about anybody else or have anyone else around you. Of course, if you prefer company, you can always run with a friend or running partner.

Running also gives you a tremendous sense of wellbeing, as it releases endorphins – the ‘happy hormones’ – in your brain, which can have all kinds of health benefits, including stress release.

You don’t need any special equipment to run – as long as you have a pair of trainers that are not actually hurting you, all you need are some comfortable clothes. It can be done at any time of day and at whatever pace suits you best. You can vary your route so that the run is always fresh and new, and many people like to listen to music as they run, to help motivate them to run faster and to increase their enjoyment of the exercise.
