Are You Better Off Friends Than A Couple?

Here are a couple of red flags that let you know that your romantic partner is better off in the friend zone:

You don’t care how you look. It’s natural to want to dress a little nicer just for them. But if you never care about impressing them, if you couldn’t care less about your hair or clothes when the two of you go out, there might be a problem. They are more of a friend than a partner. This goes both ways.

You aren’t bothered by no-calls or cancelled dates. If you don’t feel disappointed by cancelled dates, or they not calling you back, if you simply shrug it off or even secretly feel relieved, you might be thinking of them more as a friend than anything else.

You prefer to go out in a group. It’s fun to hang out with everybody sometimes, but there should be just-the-two-of-you part too. If you find yourself scheduling group dates instead of one-on-one time, it might be because you’re more comfortable as friends.

You’re never jealous. Jealousy, even just a little, will happen in a romantic relationship. It’s the most natural emotion in a relationship. If you see your guy or girl hugging an attractive person or distracted by someone sexy when you are with them, and don’t feel anything, it might be because you see them more as a friend. Comfort is great, but if you never feel the least bit jealous, it could be a problem.

You avoid tender words. Most couples have cute pet names and say romantic things to each other. Is sweet, tender words between you aren’t happening, if friendly insults are the done thing, odds are, you’re both still thinking as friends and not as a couple.

They aren’t the top priority. Friends and family are important, but when you meet the one, they suddenly are the number one spot in your life. If this special someone falls to second, third or lower on the list, they’re not really significant other material. They might make a great friend, but they’re not ‘the’ person.
