5 Bad weight-loss habits

In an attempt to lose weight, we often end up doing more harm to our body than any good. If you’re following a healthy and filling diet along with a daily dose of exercise, you’re doing good. However, those of you who have been crash dieting and starving yourselves in order to lose weight, it’s high-time that you do away with these habits. This will ruin your health. Here are 5 bad weight-loss habits to get rid of in order to stay healthy.

Eating little portions

Yes, consuming measured proportions of food is necessary to control bloating. However, this does not mean that you starve yourself and keep your body from gaining nutrition to stay fit and healthy. It is important to keep your tummy filled. Do not skip breakfast as beginning your day with a filling meal will enhance your metabolism rate. This helps in faster burning of calories while skipping breakfast slows down the process.

Over-exercising

Over exercising will not lead to anything but fatigue and body pain. Exercising should make your feel energetic and upbeat. Too much of exercise may lead to excess pressure on the heart leading to cardiac arrests. Furthermore, it’ll cause muscle tear and unbearable joint pain. An hour of daily exercise is enough.

Avoid long-term liquid diets

Liquid diets can prove to be beneficial only if followed for a short span of time in order to get rid of the toxins and burning calories faster. If one continues to follow a liquid diet on a day-to-day basis, it’s going to cause fiber deficiencies which may get them prone to certain diseases.

Avoid gorging on cheat days

Yes, it feels like an absolute perk to eat your favourite junk on cheat days. However, if you gorge on unhealthy food out of proportion, you week-long diet and exercise is going to go in vain. Eat proportionate amounts of your favourite food. Too much of anything is bad. Savour tiny bites of it. Your body is not used to consuming too many calories at once. Consuming too much junk may cause bloating.

Drinking packed fruit juices

Many people drink these fruit juices as they tend to think of them as healthy to consume. Most of these packed drinks are anything but healthy. They contain added sugar and artificial flavours which are far from replacing fresh fruit juice. Furthermore, it is extremely unhealthy to consume aerated drinks like Coke. They contain excess sugar which is unhealthy for the body to consume. It would be safe to state the number of calories found in packed fruit juices almost the same as found in aerated drinks.
