State schedules big-game seasons for 2014-15

Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism

WINFIELD – Big decisions were made on big game at the Kansas Wildlife, Parks and Tourism Commission public hearing in Topeka on March 20, including setting the seasons for elk and deer. The 2014-15 elk and deer basic season structures will remain unchanged from the 2013-2014 season. Deer hunters, however, see changes in how they can use white-tailed antlerless permits next season.

For most of the state, archery season for elk will run from Sept. 15 to Dec. 31, with firearm season from Dec. 3 to 12 and Jan. 1 to March 15.

Archery season for deer will be Sept. 15 to Dec. 31, with muzzleloader season from Sept. 15 to 28.
