More club finals line-ups were decided at Louth Indoor Bowls Club recently and there was a cracking match in the men’s fours semi where Tony Willoughby, Alan Watson, Vic White and Horace Cope just got the better of four members of the Dent family by 25-23.
The Dents had made a poor start being 7-0 down after three ends but soon got motoring to go 14-7 ahead.
They still held a healthy lead at 20-14 but their opponents hit top gear themselves with a ‘5 and a ‘4’ and held out for victory.
In the final they will meet Harry Putland, Ernst Jensen, John Welsh and Tony Musson, who just kept their noses in front to win 19-14 in a tight game against Jack Goy, Mike Leverton, Jonathan Darley and Barrie Robinson.
Darley and Robinson also lost in the Men’s Pairs semi-finals where they were beaten 22-12 by Russ Dent and Alan Dent (Junior).
The other semi saw success again for Putland and Musson as they registered a comprehensive win over father and son duo Pete and Jack Goy.
